The Moral of the Story Is

Mrs. Hilton, the kindergarten teacher, was suddenly taken ill and a replacement was hastily found.  The substitute teacher had a degree in computer science and was at a loss as to what to do with the children.  She decided to tell them stories.  And always, at the end of each story, she would say, “And the moral of that story is . . ..”  Hearing dozens of stories, the children had sat through dozens of morals.  In a few days, Mrs. Hilton recovered from her illness and returned to her class.  One of her students greeted her with a smile and said, “Teacher, I’m so glad you’re back.  I like you better than that other teacher.”  Mrs. Hilton was flattered by the child, but was curious.  “Why do you like me better than the other teacher?”  The child looked into the teacher’s eyes and said, “Because you don’t have any morals.”

You just don’t know what will come out of our children’s mouths.  But school is starting real soon.  Bridge City will have students beginning on August 16th and Orangefield, LC-M, WOS students will begin on August 28th.  We also have students attending college that will be starting soon as well.

I would like to challenge you during the month of August to pray for our students, teachers, and administrations of our area schools and colleges.  I would also like to invite you to come out on August 5, 2017 at 8 a.m. for the Orangefield ISD Prayer Walk.  We will begin at the field house parking lot at 8 a.m. and then walk the Orangefield campuses and pray.  There will be resting stations and signs along the way to help you.  We will conclude the walk at 10 a.m.

Let’s all join together and make 2017-2018 the best year for our students and the ministry we have with our schools.  I hope to hear your prayer stories and the great impact your prayers are having.
