Star Trip: Our Faith Awakens

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. . .

Well, not a galaxy far, far away. A long time ago, in a land sort of far away. It is a period of unrest for the people of God. The Empire of King Herod – backed by the Roman oppressors– is a dark force in the land of Judah. Who can bring light into this dark situation?  Who can bring light into the even deeper darkness of our own sin?

Men from the east believe they have found the answer. These men – who some call wise, some call Magi, some say they were kings – they spot a new light in the night sky.  They follow this star believing that it will lead them to another light. A light for all men and women. The light of the world – the one sent of God.

Star Trip Christmas Program is an opportunity for our whole congregation to take a journey with the Magi. We will follow a star that promises new life. We will encounter frustration. We will see the dark side in the court of King Herod. In the end, we will meet Jesus, the light that gives light to all people.

Star Trip takes light-hearted Nativity sketches and combines them with worshipful narration, Bible readings, and singing to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas experience for you and our congregation.

We will begin working on this November through December and we are needing seven actors/actresses for the sketches, a speaker and a Bible reader.  If you would like to take part there is a signup sheet at the welcome center.  We will have an informational meeting with those interested in taking part in the program on November 1st in the fellowship hall right after the am worship service.  Please pray about participating and if you feel lead to participate come join us!

I also hope that everyone will start inviting your friends and family to come join us on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. for our Christmas Program.  It will be a great time of fun, family, and fellowship.  Hope to see everyone there!
